China cultivates more high-standard farmland in 2025 amid modernization drive

With rural industries creating more job opportunities, farmers' incomes in China continued to rise in the first quarter of the year, a senior official with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said on Friday. The per capita disposable income of Chinese rural residents in the first quarter of 2025 reached 7,003 yuan ($959), an increase of 6.5 percent after adjusting for inflation, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
